This wine is for you, made of 100% Syrah and the absolute epitome of "Iron fist in a velvet glove." Dark black raspberry in both the color and the aroma, with a beautiful earthiness that doesn't go down the compost-y side of things but rather like rich loam soil meets black cherry menthol meets worn saddle leather. A touch of minerality adds some edge. The flavor is simply tremendous, with mouth-coating goodness that snaps into place with a touch of late acidity.
