Moris Avvoltore 2007
A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Syrah, beautifully expressed in this deeply concentrated yet elegant wine. Black fruits, vanilla and something a little floral. Fine tannis give way to a long, lush finish. Like the bird of prey this wine was named for, indulge your carnivorous side and pair with a great big porterhouse.

Expert Review
93 Points - "a blend of cabernet sauvignon, sangiovese and syrah; 14.5% alcohol. Good deep ruby-red. Cassis, licorice pastille, violet and sexy smoky oak on the nose, lifted by an intense note of freshly cracked black pepper. Densely packed, sweet and very intense, with palate-saturating flavors of chocolatey plum and herbs. Finishes long and smooth, with lingering violet and black pepper notes. Many readers know that Avvoltore is always one of the best Supertuscans; it's also probably the best value of them all."

Food Pairings
Seriously anything tomatoey sings with Sangiovese, pizza and pasta to be sure. Sausages, chicken, gazpacho. Bread salad.
