Mount Eden Chardonnay Estate 2009

Here’s a wonder that’s chalky and mineral at its sappy core and fragrant and oily to its perfume in that it fills every corner of the skull. Alpen herbs are fragrant and fleshy. Sensual wines like this are all that’s worth drinking. Other wines are mere fermented grape juice; this is the happy marriage of place, grapes, the gentle hand of minimalism and something beyond this world.
