Mullineux Quartz Chenin Blanc 6/750 2016

For its spine of invigorating acidity, Chenin Blanc takes well to South Africa’s balmy climate. Here the wines are fresh and fruity, less about Chenin Blanc’s lanolin, ripe honey and damp straw, and instead more reminiscent of citrus, melons, and faint floral aromas. Though Chenin Blanc has a propensity for off dry wines elsewhere, here in South Africa, these wines are typically snappy and pleasantly dry –just the sort of wine to enjoy as an aperitif or during the high heat during the dog days of Summer.

Food Pairings

Raw oysters, no kidding. Seafood salads. Asian foods, trout, smoked fish, chicken.
