Nigl Gruner Veltliner Alte Reben 2006

Nigl 2006 Alte Reben Gruner Veltliner
Mineral and savory charms are pert and precocious with a limey pear polish. Straight behind these come the scents of those evocative herbs one loves to use when roasting chickens. Fresh on the attack this calms on the mid palate to allow for a dramatic crescendo up through the finish. Tasted beside the 2007 I enjoy what calm a year can bring and yet I cannot get enough of either of them. For table talk, Nigl rhymes with eagle and Alte Reben means “old vine” which is probably how this mineral depth of loess is achieved.
