Nikolaihof Gruner Veltliner Im Weingebirge Federspiel 2008

ANK-081 : Nikolaihof-Wachau 2008 Grüner Veltliner Im Weingebirge Federspiel

Grüner Veltliner from Nikolaihof is unlike any other wine available. They’re deeper, denser, rounder, riper, more concentrated, and they age! Judging from a 1993 we enjoyed last year, Grüner Veltliner can age to a filigreed complexity at 16 and it had the character that was sure to develop to even more detail. This Grüner Veltliner has a nose embodying the top heavy peonies of Summer and fermented citrus rinds that engross all faculties and seem to beckon a person into the glass. Oh, the palate is such a wondrous surprise of talcy texture, a wide array of vibrant and juicy acids and a minerality Grüner Veltliner can imbue when grown in special places under gifted hands. Drink more Grüner Veltliner. It’s one of the world’s finest white varieties and one of the most capable. Drink it now. Drink it later. Drink it often. This 2008 could be drunk for years to come and with its help so could you but I urge you to savor it instead; this bottle is a jewel box.
