Novelty Hill Merlot 2011

Novelty Hill 2011 Merlot, Washington | 14.4% | 94% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc aged 22 months in new and used barrels, predominately French oak | The Columbia Valley is a diverse growing region that provides a wide range of fruit expressions to yield multi-layered wines. For this Merlot, winemaker Mike Januik blended barrels from Novelty Hill’s estate vineyard Stillwater Creek, on the Royal Slope of the Frenchman Hills, along with select lots from Alder Ridge in the Horse Heaven Hills to create a richly textured wine. Packed with dark cherries and fresh, ripe raspberry aromas and flavors, this medium-bodied wine offers a deliciously textured mid-palate and a silky, concentrated finish that lasts.
