Novelty Hill Roussanne 2012

With its balmy slopes of broken basaltic soils, Stillwater Creek Vineyard evokes a bit of the Northern Rhone in Washington’s Columbia Valley which is why Roussanne reigns. Renowned winemaker Mike Januik certainly play his part too –concentrating all the scents and flavors in the vineyard to preserve all the melon and stone fruit on the nose and a mouthful of fresh apricots on the palate. This is exceptionally balanced –keeping Roussanne in tension rather than throwing its weight around. On the tingling finish the fragrance lasts and lasts.
