Ottella Lugana 2011

This Lugana DOC is a classy little number. Locally known as Turbiana, this 100% Trebbiano di Lugana reflects the suspicion that this might in fact be a close cousin of Verdicchio except that it is more floral than herbal, of softer fruit than citrus, and with more ethereal fragrances than almonds –more honeycomb and honeydew melon. No matter its mettle this is as fresh as a Spring day and evokes an ideal Summer outing on a long and sun soaked wooden yacht cruising along the shore somewhere in the Mediterranean –an absolute beauty.
