Palliser Pinot Noir 2008

Definitely Pinot Noir! Cherry and eucalyptus jump out of the glass. Full and round mouthfeel. Nice, earthy, grippy finish. Something reminds me of grilled veggies - like zucchini and portabellas! 14.2% ABV

Expert Review

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 13
"Bright medium red. Complex nose melds red berries, woodsmoke and exotic spices, with notes of coffee and earth emerging with air. Supple, spicy and nicely concentrated; approaching its peak but the wine's verve and structure suggest that it should give pleasure for several more years. The flavors of strawberry, mocha and forest floor are perked up by lively acidity. Finishes with firm but fine-grained tannins and very good subtle length. This doesn't have quite the fleshiness for 90 points, but I bumped up my score in appreciation of the wine's subtle complexity and sheer drinkability. By the way, this 2008 is the winery's current pinot release in the U.S. market."

89 points - "Bright medium red. Sexy aromas of smoky red raspberry and minerals, with a mulchy complexity. Broad, sweet and ripe, with very good but not outstanding complexity to the red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with sweet, suave tannins and very good length. Approachable already but this winery's pinots are normally at their best five or six years after the vintage."
