Perrin Vinsobres Cornuds 2010

Vinsobres is the to the Southern Rhône what Juliénas is to the Cru of Beaujolais –Vinsobres is richer and spicier than most its neighbors and yet still floral, fruity and structured more seriously. At higher elevations, Vinsobres is also cooler and so its vines ripen their fruit slower and more completely. What I love about this one especially is a cordial cherry tension where the cherries are sweet and tart while the chocolate is rich and bittersweet. Despite its young delineation as an AOC all its own, Vinsobres like this proves the choice to celebrate this special plot in the Southern Rhône.

PERRIN & FILS 2010 Vinsobres Les Cornuds
Dense and layered, but very refined, with a violet note stitching the crushed black cherry, steeped blackberry and anise flavors together, while an iron note adds range to the finish.

89 Points - Wine Advocate, October 2012
The 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Vinsobres Les Cornuds is dark ruby/purple, exhibiting loads of minerality, blue and black fruits, crisp acids and a cool climate, zesty, yet powerful mouthfeel.
