Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco 2011

Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco 2009 Piedmont, Italy | Fragrant wood spice, pomegranate and Nanking cherry fruit, sugi incense from Japan that is equal parts cedar and sandalwood that beguiling fougères note that marries ferns and pine duff. Just the sort of Barolo that could age...but why wait when as if a miracle it is ready and waiting for a glass to come along.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, July 11th 2014 (Fruit)

A BArolo that could easily age over 20 years, at first blush it is garnet red with a bouquet with traces of licorice and tobacco. Full flavored, full-bodied and elegant.

Noble and generous, glory of old Piedmont, a wine suitable for long aging, Barolo is the absolute master of the table. It conquers the palate with the conviction of strength, harmony and fullness and holds its sway at length. Barolo Marcenasco has ancient origins. There are historical documents from the "Rigestum Comunis Albae" that bear witness to the cultivation of the Nebbiolo wine in the "Marcenascum" area already back in the 12th Century. Barolo Marcenasco is smooth, balanced, elegant and faithfully, best to drink between 6 to 12 years after the vintage.
