Ricasoli 2010 Brolio Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany | 80% Sangiovese (their very own clone: the Brolio Sangiovese clone) 15% Merlot 5% Cabernet Sauvignon | Exceptional and rich without going into that funkier, stinkier old style that might have defined Chianti Classico before cellar hygiene and replanting sparked a renaissance throughout Chianti. Better viticulture and winemaking has begun more forward fruit –lingonberry, and blackberry, that waxy vanilla bean and fragrant hardwoods that make for a luscious Chianti Classico.

Seriously anything tomatoey sings with Sangiovese, pizza and pasta to be sure. Sausages, chicken, gazpacho. Bread salad.
