Vinicola del Sannio 2014 Samnis Fiano, Sannio | 13% | 100% Fiano | From the hilly sub-appellation of Sannio at the center of Campania this exemplary Fiano shows just what propelled Campania’s aromatic grape to prominence more than a thousand years ago: a fragrant pine cone honeycomb whose waxy aromas carry over on a full bodied palate and are balanced in the mouth by a chalky mineral that fills the senses with this aromatic charm and finishes off dry and subtly scented. Refreshing for all its lemon like acidity with a firm pineapple and cantaloupe nuance to curl the fragrance into the textural flavors this dry white makes for a rich expression of the variety without crossing that line into a heavy weight –instead it is thirst slaking for all its richness from start to finish.
