Schrock Weissburgunder 2015

Pinot Blanc is an affable variety because it expresses delicious orchard fruit. Who doesn't love apples and pears or the occasional peach? In the capable hands we trust, Pinot Blanc often presents bouquets of fresh floral notes, the occassional candied ginger and when combined with mineral nuance and structured acidity, they ring from the class like the peal from a clear bell. Although Alsace has always lead the myridons on Pinot Blanc, it's no longer the Achilles -not for any pediatary trouble but because Italy, the Pacific Northwest and other lucky folks have found the sites Pinot Blanc loves best and are fostering some remarkable examples. This seems a classic pairing with pork dishes featuring apple or pear sauces when you want a glass of crisp dry white to resonate with the similar orchard fruit on the plate.

Food Pairings

Pork or rabbit even as pate or rillettes. Quiche and other chicken egg dishes. Chicken and turkey. Crabs and scallops.
