Schwarzbock Gruner Veltliner 2010

Grown in the sandstone of Hagenbrunn near Vienna, this is a nimble Grüner Veltliner both mineral, limey, nearly hoppy in fragrance but then crisp over the palate with apples, citrus, and cool stony minerality. Though bright this is balanced with a polished texture part creamy part burnished. I love this; for necking, for its appetizing 12% alcohol, for its thrust, for its presence, for its LITER format, for all the charming food pairings one could dream of, for being among the best values in Grüner Veltliner to be found.
