Tenuta Sant'Antonio Valpolicella Nanfre 2009

70% Corvina and 30% Rondinello, 100% stainless steel fermented. Hints of cinnamon and tangy cherry in the nose. Very bright, fresh flavors showing some strawberry. A long, soft finish. You could give this wine a slight chill.
- wine tasting note by MN, 9/9/11

This is an eastern Valpolicella that delivers a lot but not entirely what you'd expect. Our expectations for Valpolicella have been defined by wines of the Classico region; in the east the wines are not less flavourful but lighter, I would say elegant.

The aromas here are lifted, delicate strawberry not crushed or even cut but whole. The wine is really lovely in the mouth, very persistent flavours and long. I’d liken them to a tart fruit like pie cherries. An excellent food wine, A really cool label.

Food Pairings

Versatile. Most anything grilled especially chicken and pork. Pastas and pizzas with a tomato sauce. Tuna and salmon.
