Tenuta Sant'Antonio Amarone Selezione Castagnedi 6/750 2011

20 to 25 year old Corvina 70% - Rondinella 20% - Croatina 5% - Oseleta 5% from the densely planted Mezzane di Sotto municipality of the Monti Garbi district, guarantee low yields of concentrated fruit which is double sorted by hand at harvest and laid out to dry on wooden trays to begin to dry before a gentle pressing and a 25 day fermentation followed by bâtonnage once a month for the first year. This Amarone is then aged 2 years in new French oak 500-litre tonneaux invoking ripe red fruit, spicy fragrances of licorice, black pepper and a hint of chocolate whose scents become flavors that are all well-balanced, with round tannins, a warming softness, at once full-flavored, elegant and fine.
