Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Alba 2009

Vietti 2009 Tre Vigne Barbera d'Alba
Warm sultry nose of ripe berries -even for a Barbera of Alba that most typically shows more of Barbera's soft side than the pert and present Barberas of Asti. On the palate this is polished round and lovely. Charming vintage to explore Barbera and fall for her voluptuous side and lure you for the rest of time.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, August 2012

Ruby purple color with ripe red cherry aromas and vanilla. With hints of violets the Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne is slightly rounder in structure than the Barbera d'Asti. On the palate it shows bright acidity, soft tannins with good integration of oak, good complexity and a lingering cherry finish. 14.4% alc by vol.

Expert Review

“While the quality of the Barolos continues to be very high what impresses me most about Vietti is the quality of all their wines. Vietti is one of Barolo’s historic properties. Husband and wife team Alfredo Currado and Luciana Vietti were pioneers in the 1960s. They were among the first producers to recognize the unique qualities of their vineyards of their vineyards, many of which are among the finest in the region, even today.”
-Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, May 2008
