Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti 2009

Vietti 2009 Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti
Broadbrush, this is far and away the best Barbera d'Asti I've had in years. Still structured and svelte but not of the linear and slim variety -this is of the flexing, toned and perfectly graceful variety. Delicious and plush, the 2009 is alluring and and juicy and polished. Barbera is Piedmont's unsung hero and this its Hercules. If ever there were a Barbera to seek out hedonistically, open and savor -even guzzle, this is it. That said, this Tre Vigne could easily go five to six years in the cellar and take on further depth.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, August 2012

Ruby purple color with ripe red cherry aromas with hints of mineral and vanilla. A dry, medium bodied red wine with refreshing acidity (making it perfect to pair with food) and soft tannins, the Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is well balanced with good integration of oak, good complexity and a finish of more red cherries.
