Wrongo Dongo 2010

Where else but Jumilla turns out deep and dense almost black reds like this -especially from the mother clone of Mourvèdre. Monastrell from this corner of Spain (just southwest of Valencia) is full flavored and richly textured and yet still mild enough to knock back. Grilled plum and blackberries make a nice core of fruit; to that add cloves, brown spices, and floral top notes and you have more wine for the money than its peers. Though full and fulfilling this is just as lip smacking as a dark red could be. 14.5%

Expert Review

"Aromas of pointed red plum and mild earthy, leafy aromas precede a well-constructed palate, with dark plum and standard berry flavors. The is a mellow wine that's very good for the price."
