Yalumba Barossa Patchwork Shiraz 2008
Wow, what a thing to look at…as deep a color as you'll find in a glass (of wine); a brooding, dark mix of black fruits, mocha and licorice; the palate is dense, and thoroughly chewy and not particularly graceful (but there's a place for that in the wine world), but the rugged energy delivers a potent mix of fruit and structure. This wine asks for red meat.
