Dog Point Vineyards
Viticulturist Ivan Sutherland and Winemaker James Healy left Cloudy Bay five years ago, in a return to their vision quest of making the best wines in New Zealand. They are working many of the very vineyards that first put New Zealand on the world wine map with a commitment to quality, meticulous vineyard care and winery management that is unrivalled in a region that is quickly becoming a hotbed of conglomerate acquisition. All Dog Point grapes are sustainably farmed, hand harvested, and stringently sorted before fermentation to ensure that only the best grapes end up in a Dog Point bottle.
In addition to setting the standard for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Dog Point is also renowned for making Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that has some winemakers in Burgundy a little unsure about their historically exclusive hold on the top echelon for these two great grapes.
