What’s your favorite thing about working in this industry?

I was initially drawn to wine because I really like history and geography and because wine in particular just takes you to this place and this time and it’s like this snapshot and I really enjoy sharing that with people.

What is your favorite or memorable pairing?

Oysters and champagne – easy, fun, decadent.

What is your favorite breed of dog?

I’m partial to spicy Chihuahuas. I have a couple of them at home. They are both rescues. I think they are Min-Pin-Chihuahua mixes — and one is particularly pretty grumpy while the other is sweet as pie. My Poncho is very spicy.

What is your deserted island drink?

It used to be Chenin Blanc because you can make it in all of its forms; it can be sweet, it can be dry, it can be sparkling, it can be still. If I needed some quantity, I would just take a chuggable liter of Grüner.

What region do you return to again and again to drink?

I would say the Loire is probably my go to.

How about a favorite Adult NA Alternative?

I am very fond of HETI low dose products. I really love the Marshland Harvest and the River Path. I like their sessionable nature.

What do you pour for sipping?

I like sipping on Amari. I like the rhubarb based ones – the smoky based rhubarb ones. Those are my fave.

Favorite Minnesota landmark?

Not so much a landmark but an area. I am really in love with the Driftless Region in southeastern Minnesota moving into Wisconsin. I love the landscape. I think it is just incredible to look at and there is just all this beautiful water, Lake Pepin in particular. I would say it’s my happy place. I just think it’s stunning.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

“These boots are made for walking” by Nancy Sinatra
