Kate Thomas brings a rich blend of experiences to her role as Sales Manager at The Wine Company. Before joining TWC, she played a key role in developing the ASPECT Fine Wine division at Breakthru, where she discovered how naturally her people-centered, service-driven approach fit within the world of wine and spirits.
Kate’s route to the beverage alcohol industry was nonlinear: she studied International Relations and French, spent seven years living and teaching in France (plus a brief stint in Italy), and worked across education, retail, events organization, and health and wellness. The real inflection point came during her years in fine dining at several of Minneapolis’s standout restaurants, where she honed her craft and gained meaningful exposure to wine. Across all these chapters, the constants have been service, creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep focus on people.
As she’s grown in distribution, Kate has fallen in love with the craft of connecting people through wine and spirits, combining concierge-style sales, education, storytelling, and hospitality-forward experiences. In her role at The Wine Company, she brings that same energy into leadership: empowering her team, strengthening customer relationships, and helping partners connect with products that elevate their programs while supporting shared business growth. Her approach is grounded and thoughtful, rooted in strategy, adaptability, and a healthy commitment to keeping it real—always with professionalism in tow.
Although Kate grew up on the Minneapolis side of the river, she’s a proud St. Paul resident now. Outside of work, you’ll find her playing games, doing Pilates, enjoying the outdoors or gardening with her partner, daughter and friends. In all things, Kate tries to see whole people, eat and drink well, and savor the in-between moments of life.
