Selvapiana Vin Santo 2007

Rarely do we find Malvasia Nero strutting its stuff all on its own. It tends to roll with Negro Amaro who usually makes up the larger portion of the traditional blends out of Salice Salentino. Malvasia Nero deserves more solos in the future. Almost Amarone or Recioto like, this offers an inviting cherry compote, high notes of licorice, smooth and round chocolate notes and a polished elegance so fragrant of fruit and so gently tannic and yet deeply colored and nuanced that you could drink this all night with or without a wide variety of food.
