Roman Pinot Noir 2018

“This Vin Pays d’Oc Pinot Noir is an easy-drinking wine offers notes of soft cherry and assorted red berries with a warm spice unique to aging in select oak barrels. From a place rich in history and scenery, these Pinot Noir are grown roundabout Minervois, and it is the home of a man named Philippe and his wife, who have owned and farmed Domaine Roman for 40 years. The couple performs all of the farming and winemaking tasks on the 74-acre estate on their own.”

“Just 35 miles inland from the Mediterranean beaches but a world apart in terms of topography and scenery, the Minervois hills are rich with vineyards, castles, abbeys, trails for hiking and rivers for fishing. Nearby are Beziers, Narbonne, Carcassonne and Canal du Midi. There, the Domaine Roman vines thrive on the clay and schist-like soil to produce perfectly ripened and flavorful grapes, the key to crafting outstanding wines. Philippe and his wife know their vineyard like the backs of their hands, which explains why the Domaine Roman Pinot Noir is such an excellent wine.”

Food Pairings
