Marchesi di Gresy Gaiun Barbaresco 2006

A classic vintage without risk, 2006 gave the Nebbiolo plenty of time on the vine and a nice exchange of cool nights and warm dry days to tease out every charm and fragrance. More flavor, and the fragrances of roses and violets, anise and licorice so true to Nebbiolo. Spicy aromatic hardwoods, leathern cherries wash over the palate and leave an charming impression of older creature comforts; an antique library lit by a dim lamp beside a well-loved chair into which you can rock your back. Aged in French oak barrels ~45% new, this marries all these scents and flavors so well.
