The Arsonist Red 2020
This is a grape variety about to erupt onto the wine "scene". Petit Verdot seemed destine to play a minor and declining role in the production of Bordeaux and Meritage wines until Argentina winemakers adopted it. Just as Malbec has come into its own in Argentina so too will Petit Verdot. There are some nice examples in The United States but in Argentina it struts its stuff. It probably sounds like the openig line to a blonde joke but good Petit Verdot is dense but pretty; very textural with lots of black fruits.
