Warre's Vintage Port 6/750 1994

Warre’s 2007 Vintage Port
From 32 hectares of 25 year old wines, Warre's 2007 is always sure to beguile with a wondrous complexity tempered by incomparable balance. Penetrating aromas of sandalwood, sassafras, sweet grass, anise and clove shift and give way to blackberry, cherry and dried cranberry fruit. A remarkable texture swells with aromatic molasses, brown sugar and sinuous spiced fruits. Tasting review by Nicholas D. Livingston (January 2009)

Inky, concentrated and with opaque colour given by the famous old vines of the Bom Retiro estate. This concentration combines perfectly with the freshness imparted by the wines from the higher lying Cavadinha vineyards to produce lovely fresh flavours of blackberry fruit. A wine of enormous elegance combining vibrant lifted fruit that jumps out of the glass, with power and long lasting flavours. The blend was also much enhanced by the exuberance of the Telhada Touriga Franca grapes. Review by Dominic Symington

Expert Review

92 Points - "Good deep ruby. Lovely high-pitched, perfumed aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, licorice and orange peel. Dense, sweet and deep, with a wonderfully lush texture and captivating purity of fruit. Finishes long and fresh, with extremely refined tannins and excellent lift. A beauty."
-Wine Review by Stephen Tanzer, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan 10
