Fevre Chablis Vaudesir Gr Cru 6/750 2019

Trefethen seems to be having a good run with Chardonnay the last few vintages. They seem to just keep getting better. The 2007 is surprisingly elegant for a Napa Chard. It has just the right touch of vanilla and oak complementing the charming poached pear and honeysuckle notes. The palate is creamy, moderately oaked (thank you for not murdering this with too much lumber!) with a distinct crème brulee and ripe pear note.

“Liquid sunlight” in the glass, our Chardonnay delights the palate with aromas of poached pear, lemon cream, toasted brioche, and bright white honeysuckle. A full, viscous mouth is balanced by classic Trefethen fruit – bright and crisp pear and lemon. A little vanilla, butterscotch, and cooking herbs linger in the background and tickle the tongue during a nice, long finish."

Expert Review

90 points Wine Advocate
The 2007 Chardonnay from Trefethen’s estate vineyard in Oak Knoll, in the southern part of Napa, displays notes of pear, lemon blossom, hints of honeysuckle and tropical fruit, a subtle use of wood, and a medium-bodied, fleshy mouthfeel. This is a beauty to drink over the next 2-3 years.
