Argyle Brut 2007

Prepare to be fascinated by this alluring sparkling vintage. The aromas are a weaving together of the best that fine sparkling wines deliver. Look for vanilla spiced pear fruit with very floral citrus blossom scents. A lovely yeastiness blends nicely with fresh baguette bouquet. There's a hint of Fresca-like citrus in there too. The palate is VIBRANT and chock full of tiny bubbles. Pear to red apple fruit folds nicely into vanilla spice. The texture is creamy-plus, providing amazing richness while remaining zippy and citrusy. The yeast flavor has evolved into filo dough right out of the oven. These flavors go on and on after the wine is gone.

Expert Review

Wine Advocate 90 "The 2007 Brut displays a bouquet of brioche, pear, apple, and white peach. Crisp, balanced, and lengthy, this outstanding value is meant for drinking over the next several years." -JM

Wine Spectator 90 "Tight, spicy and distinctive for the lemon meringue and spice overtones to green apple and toast flavors. Drink now. 11,623 cases made." - Harvey Steiman

Connoiseurs' Guide to California Wine, 88 Points - "With scattered suggestions of crisp, mildly apple-like fruit showing up here and there, this fresh, delicately yeasted working is at once both refreshing and a bit lighter in style. It is dry and foamy with a slight bite to its bubbles, and its cleansing finish is marked by subtle touches of citrus and chalk." Reviewed: November 2011
