Argyle Spirithouse Pinot Noir 2008

The Argyle Spirithouse and the Nuthouse are unusual 2008 Oregon Pinots; there is more brightness to the fruit than most. The nose is of spearamint and the cinnamon one smells while chewing Red Hots. The wine has a great future which will add suppleness to this currently kind of tight wine. The flavours are bright cranberry and other red fruits with a gooseberry tart fruit character. Alcohol is 14%. Notes by LAC. December 21, 2011

Expert Review

2008: Wine Spectator 93 "Light, with a savory edge to the panoply of raspberry, chamomile and floral flavors, remaining vivid and focused through the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2019." - Harvey Steiman

2008: Wine Advocate 93 "The fruit for the 2008 Spirithouse Pinot Noir was sourced from the Knudsen Vineyard in Dundee Hills and is also scheduled for a Spring 2011 release. Itʼs a bit tighter then the Nuthouse but possesses all the right stuff for a graceful evolution of 5-7 years. Concentrated, focused, and beautifully balanced, it should easily achieve its 20th birthday in fine form." - Jay Miller
