Paitin Roero Arneis Vigna Elsia 2010

Thank heavens Arneis was preserved for posterity –this variety was nearly lost but the region has cradled it from near extinction to this glorious glass of mineral, citric, sappy and textural. Mandarin and lemon rinds and honeydew are the most prominent fruit that are fragrant and snappy with a polished mouthfeel, an herby nuance, and finish that is crisp yet round with a fresh almond scent –a perfect foil to wrap about broasted chicken, pastas in cream sauce, or soft ripened cheeses.

Food Pairings

A charming aperitivo with ripe pears and a good companion for shellfish or sauteed sole. Pasta with lighter toppings, herbs and pesto.
