Barraud Macon Chaintre 2010

Ah this is Mâcon unlike any other –with rich scents more akin to fine Pouilly Fuissé: warm freshly baked apples, that cool dewy fragrance of ferns growing on the floor or a soaring old growth forest where one feels small and all the better and comforted for it. On the palate this is absolute harmony with that rosin like sap of Burgundy at every corner and a polished spice that whispers of caraway before the deluge of orchard fruit washes over everything you once knew and leaves one marveling in its wake. This is no mere Mâcon, this is Domaine Barraud and entirely consuming.
