Gaston Chiquet Blanc de Blancs d'Ay

Chiquet Blanc de Blancs Aÿ | Degorgement February 2015 and finishing at 12.5% alcohol | Marmalade over graham flour biscuits, a slight toast, yuzu citrus peel, rich flavors that are more baked ginger scone than the tangerine and citrus peel of the last disgorgement noted. This Champagne has a souplesse both lithe and limber. Delicious at every turn with hints at that fragrant nutty mushroom and carob starch one might find on Clos des Goisses. This is phenomenal champagne and everything that makes récoltant manipulant (grower producer) Blanc de Blancs its most charming. Nota bene: sealed in a Diamant cork which cannot be tainted by cork taint) this will always be as fresh and pure as the Chiquet intended.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, 18th May 2016 (Flower Day)

Tasty start to finish. Pure quince, tangerine and fragrant brioche wash onto a refreshing palate of lemon rinds, chalky mineral, orchard fruit, and a floral liqueur that eddy about one another with a fine but persistent mousse that brings life to every corner of the palate.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, April 2013

Vibrant yellow-green hue, fine mousse.
Delicate and fruity nose: citrus, pineapple, grapefruit with a hint of lemon. Lively palate with the finesse of Chardonnay: citrus, white flowers, mandarin. Long finish. Aperitif Champagne par excellence.
