Darnaud Crozes Hermitage Les Trois Chenes 2009
Big, broad nose; masculine with huge meat aromas, meat with pan juices and porcini. Later there comes a home-made beef jerky aroma. Marvelous flavours, savoury and rich; lots of Syrah fruit but not so much black pepper as one might expect. In spite of the wine’s dimension there is fine balance and an uplifting finish. Really a wonderful wine. 13.5% alcohol. Note by LAC. January 3, 2012.
