Gaillard Faugères ‘Transhumance’ 2006

50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre
A tidal wave of juicy syrah fruit, pitted plum and black raspberry fruit with a healthy dose of lavender and Garrigue, but in a rather shiny package. This is good wine that only needs a little give and take. It’s no surprise that the Northern Rhone’s great Pierre Gaillard would bring some manners to wild Faugères in the Languedoc. -BH (tasted Feb '09)
