Dubois Savigny-les-Beaune 2009

Jean Luc knows Savigny-lès-Beaune and we’re grateful for it. Not only was his father’s vast knowledge passed down to him but the very plots of Beaune. Les Picotins is certainly ripe and savory with cherry skins, flesh, and pits. Taut yet elegant, this is svelte without being lean –just absolutely gorgeous. Autumnal notes ride high with dried leaves above sous bois that evoke the forest floor around the time we don our boots and fall jackets to strike off into the woods in search of Autumn’s bounty. Bright, taut, and fit, Les Picotins is just the sort of red Burgundy to set a table spread with a guinea fowl mushroom pie. There! Now you have dinner plans and a wine to match.
