Obalo Rioja 2011

Obalo 2011 Rioja | 100% Tempranillo | 13.5% | Dense and dark, this opaque Rioja shows us the denser fruit of modern winemaking yielding rich ripe blackberries, a twinge of rhubarb and that plum skin/flesh tension of juicy acidity and sweet pulp that helps balance this out nicely. Above it all rises a fragrance and flavor of oranges encrusted by cloves leaving a really pleasant citric spice on the finish.

Very versatile. The better cuts of lamb. Most any meat braised or stewed. Game birds and poultry, especially duck.
