Marchesi di Gresy Moscato d Asti La Serra 2011

Single vineyard Moscato, this offers a purity of peachy white cherry fruit and a hypnotic fragrance of floral top notes that introduce an engaging palate with very fine, effervescent texture with bubbles so fine they become integral to the texture rather than a bottlenecking at the finish. Though sweet, this wine has a textural tannin like rosin that makes the close mineral and floral.
For a simply crafted cocktail, try the Crazy Gresi which simply adds a splash of Campari to make an alchemical aperitif of this outstanding Moscato.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, February 2013

This 100% Moscato comes from a vineyard near the Cassine village, Alessandria Province. It is gently bunch pressed and kept cool in stainless steel tanks to preserve every nuance of fragrance. Straw yellow with greenish reflections, the bouquet is intense, fresh and fruity, with notes of peach and sage. The taste is very harmonious, the acidity matches very well with the sugar and gives a wine of pleasant drinkability. Slightly frizzante, La Serra offers sensations of fresh exotic fruit and only weighs in at 5% alcohol by volume -making it, with its sweet charms a perfect accompaniment to brunches, desserts, and a light sip to unwind.
