Boroli Barolo 2007

Boroli’s Barolo in the 2007 vintage reveals Nebbiolo as an operatic baritone; deep warm tones of mellow plums and ripe cherries, brown baking spices, and heady woodsy spice. On the palate this bears all those notes on the nose but with them fleshes each out –the plums offer the acidity of plum skins, chewy cherries bear leathern tannins, and the brown baking spices evolve on the finish as a vanillin truffle fragrance. Let me amend what I said: this is not an operatic baritone but a chorus of baritones and it is moving.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, February 2013

"Wine produced with Nebbiolo grapes, typical red garnet color. The bouquet is elegant with hints of red mature fruits, leather, tobacco and sensations of oak, while on the palate the powerful structure emerges with a long persistent finish. It is a long-tasting wine matured in cask and barrique for 24 months and refined in bottle for 18 months. It is served with read meats, ripe-strong cheeses. It is excellent also after meal."
