The 2009 Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Monti Garbi is a gorgeous wine for the money. Floral notes give lift to the expressive, beautifully centered fruit in this expressive, tasty Valpolicella. The bouquet lacks just a little bit of precision, but that is admittedly a small critique for a wine that delivers so much pleasure at this price point. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.

Versatile. Most anything grilled especially chicken and pork. Pastas and pizzas with a tomato sauce. Tuna and salmon.
