Vietti Moscato Cascinetta 2010

“Oh lord!” I cry as my eyes cross in ecstasy as they shut and I am taken far from wherever I am (I’ve already forgotten) and my nose and palate are one. Clean, pure and fine mousse show just how delicate an effervescent may be and what better to carry soft, fresh fruit along the palate and through the finish. At 5.5% alcohol by volume I couldn’t have been remotely drunk but when I pull from this reverie it is a gentle landing and I’m smiling for everything in this fortunate life we lead save that the bottle’s empty and I had plans to spend the rest of my life with this wine.
Ah ! To review wines like these was an ecstasy for Nicholas D. Livingston in the frigid February of 2011 but this’ll certainly be a delight all year round… ah, … sigh…Moscato d’Asti Cascinetta.
