We are proud to announce The Wine Company has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Companies to work for in the state of Minnesota by Minnesota Business Magazine.

This prestigious award is given to only a handful of companies every year, and the list includes some incredible names indeed: aimClear, Room & Board, Spyder Trap, Swin Creative, The Nerdery, and many more (check out the whole list here).

We asked our founder and owner Larry Colbeck about our receiving of this award, and how The Wine Company came to represent a place on this very exclusive list. In Larry’s words …

At The Wine Company we have perhaps an easier time than most businesses creating a good workplace.  Most people were attracted by a shared passion but even those people not previously disposed to wine who came simply for a job become enmeshed in the camaraderie fermented in our community; wine is enjoyed most often with food and fraternity.  We live what we sell, wine and its contribution to a life well lived.  Work does not have to be a chore.

We want to thank Minnesota Business Magazine for this honor. It is recognition of a core philosophy of The Wine Company that a culture of family, creativity, and joy can be built within the structure of work, which can and ultimately does empower those who work together to excel far beyond their personal expectations.
