WINE BUYERS TAKE NOTE

The 2024 offering from TEMPOS VEGA SICILIA has been opened to the market and your Sales Consultant can help navigate these rare opportunities.

TEMPOS Vega Sicilia
The roots of TEMPOS Vega Sicilia stretch back to 1982 when the Álvarez family purchased Vega Sicilia, the legendary winery of the Ribera del Duero. Today the group has grown into the formidable stable of wineries each iconic within their appellations.

Bodegas Vega Sicilia and Bodegas y Viñedos Alión of Ribera del Duero, the wine region stretching over Spain’s northern plateau, and named for the River Duero that runs through it. Draped in Tinto Fino, the local Tempranillo clone, there are no other expressions of Ribera del Duero quite like these.

Bodegas y Viñedos Pintia of Toro, another gifted expression of the Duero with a winemaking tradition predating Roman times, as has been established from the archaeological remains unearthed in the region. A concentrated expression of thick skinned Tinto de Toro when grown in these stony alluvial soils.

Macán, a collaboration of Benjamin de Rothschild (of the Lafite Rothschilds) and Vega Sicilia is found at the foot of the Sierra Cántabra north of the river Ebro, spread among the San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida, Ábalos and Elvillar municipalities. They are small-sized plots of Tempranillo in high terraces of poor, calcareous clay soils.

Tokaj-Oremus of Tokaj, the capital of the region that produces the wines of the same name, on the banks of the River Bodrog at the foot of the firebreaks of the Zemplén Mountains, in north-eastern Hungary. Furmint, Hárslevelü, Zéta and Sárgamuskotály concentrate through Aszú, or the tears that weep from the skins affected by Botrytis yielding a sublime nectar between citrus fruit and apricots.
